Medical Nutrition Therapy
Medical nutrition therapy (MNT) is essential for patients undergoing gastrectomy to improve surgical outcomes, reduce complications, and ensure adequate nutritional status. Fay is a great partner in the process because they have Registered Dietitian specialists that are covered by insurance.
Malnutrition is a significant risk factor for postoperative complications in gastric cancer patients. Pre-op nutrition support (particularly EN) is recommended to improve outcomes
Post-gastrectomy patients are at risk for specific nutritional deficiencies, including iron, vitamin B12, and fat-soluble vitamins (A,D,E,K), therefore regular monitoring and supplementation are crucial
MNT is all about Assessment, Diagnosis, Intervention, Monitoring & Evaluation. Fay is proud to support these steps and be a partner of the organization.
