Malnutrition is a significant risk factor for postoperative complications in gastric cancer patients. Pre-op nutrition support (particularly EN) is recommended to improve outcomes
Post-gastrectomy patients are at risk for specific nutritional deficiencies, including iron, vitamin B12, and fat-soluble vitamins (A,D,E,K), therefore regular monitoring and supplementation are crucial
MNT is all about Assessment, Diagnosis, Intervention, Monitoring & Evaluation. Fay is proud to support these steps and be a partner of the organization.
Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge UK is a specialist centre for Hereditary Diffuse Gastric Cancer (HDGC). We have a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) involved in the ongoing clinical and psychological care of individuals who have a family history of HDGC or who are CDH1 mutation positive. We have regular surgical and multidisciplinary team HDGC clinics where we see new patient referrals, give endoscopy and biopsy results and see surgical pre/post follow-up patients. We offer in person and telephone or Skype consultations, as appropriate. We accept new patient referrals from a GP or Genetic team and will arrange a HDGC clinic appointment prior to organising HDGC specialist endoscopy or making any surgery plans.
